We are delighted to announce that Amicorp Community Foundation’s flagship project, the Amisewaka – Desa Les Community Center (DLCC), is officially open for business and ready to welcome its first students.
After more than six years of careful planning and development, a spectacular event on July 18th marked the official opening of the center that will provide indispensable vocational training and life skills for young people from low and no-income families in Bali and its surroundings.
The ceremony – which you can watch in full here – was attended by hundreds of guests and local dignitaries and included a host of musical, dance, theatrical performances, and other activities.
For those involved in the project, these celebrations marked not the end of a long journey, but the beginning. Over the coming weeks, the center will finally see that hard work come to fruition by being able to welcome its first students and change their lives for the better.
This journey, however, has not been possible without the help and generous support of our clients and our employees to date – and we will be looking for even more support as the center enters this exciting and rewarding next phase.
WHY IS THIS CENTER SO IMPORTANT?
On the island of Bali, known worldwide as a paradise for its beaches and perfect climate, ancient temples, and modern resorts, there is also much poverty. This scarcity is a hidden reality and is sadly more evident in the drier, poorer northern regency of Bali called Buleleng. Here children often only finish 6th grade, as their families cannot afford to send them to school to complete their education. This significantly affects their chances of getting ahead in life. It impacts their confidence and self-belief and leaves them and their extended family unable to escape living below the poverty line.
OUR MISSION
To create opportunities for young people in northern/eastern Bali by providing culinary skills and hospitality management training. The curriculum will also focus on building students’ knowledge of important environmental sustainability and local cultural heritage preservation.
OUR VISION
Rests in establishing an exemplary platform to provide impoverished youth opportunities to develop skills that will enable them to raise themselves above the poverty line. They will subsequently build better livelihoods through increased awareness, self-esteem, social skills, environmental consciousness, and self-sufficiency. Ultimately helping them build better lives not only for themselves but also for their families.
HOW CAN YOU HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
Our focus now is on the students, ensuring we provide the opportunity to as many students as possible. And this is where you can join us in continuing to make a difference by sponsoring one or more of these students at Amisewaka – Desa Les Community Center.
A donation of USD 1,000 is all that it takes for one student to attend one year at Amisewaka – DLCC. Every single dollar donated will go directly to where it is needed most. Your donation is not spent on overheads, expenses, and marketing. It’s a chance for you as an individual or as a business to genuinely help to transform the lives of these young people and their communities.

AMICORP COMMUNITY FOUNDATION (ACF)
Amicorp Community Foundation (ACF) has been active in northern Bali for some years, working with local leaders and the community. ACF has already completed a sanitation project delivering and installing 725 toilets/bathhouses for the impoverished local community. This has markedly reduced regional diseases and provided much-needed sanitation and privacy for families across the Desa Les area.
