We're incredibly proud to share that the next phase of our AmiForest project, part of the Amicorp Community Foundation (“ACF”), has officially launched.
Marking a significant milestone in our journey, we've partnered with the incredible team at Lionheart Farms, an organic regenerative coconut plantation in Rizal, Palawan, to plant the very first coconut tree sponsored by ACF. This moment is particularly special as it signifies the expansion of our commitment to environmental stewardship, a mission that first took root in 2015 in Chile.
Coconut palm trees are powerful natural carbon sinks, absorbing substantial amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as they grow, thus playing a vital role in combating climate change. Beyond carbon offsetting, these palm trees offer a wealth of additional benefits. They contribute to biodiversity by creating habitats, helping prevent soil erosion with their root systems, and enhancing water retention. This not only benefits the environment but also provides sustainable livelihoods, reducing poverty and creating jobs in the local community.
To amplify our impact right from the start, we've also invested in and adopted a number of mature coconut palms alongside our ongoing plans to sponsor more new trees being planted. This dual approach allows us to see tangible benefits more quickly while ensuring the long-term growth of this amazing forest.
With this launch, we look forward to an exciting new journey of ensuring we remain steadfast in our commitment to contributing to a more sustainable and resilient future.
