Michael heads up the Amicorp South Dakota office. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics (B.S.) at Michigan Technological University, he spent many years in Military Intelligence and Special Operations with the United States Air Force. Michael has over 20 years of experience in the Fiduciary Trust arena; his expertise includes compliance and regulatory background, Fintech, and Blockchain technologies. He has worked with family offices (Single-family and multi-family office) and the banking industry.
Michael served as the President and CEO for a South Dakota trust company and a Hong Kong trust company. He spent much time in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, focusing on transitioning traditional corporate and UHNW family structures to public and private Blockchain structures. Michael has served on several Boards as Director and an Independent Director and has managed multiple for-profit and not-for-profit foundations in several key roles. He has spoken on topics related to the adaptation of digital currencies and regulatory oversight and as a panel speaker on the importance of Trustees and Custodians in digital and decentralized finance.
An avid outdoorsman and recreational diver, Michael also volunteers as a Rescue and Recovery Diver for several government agencies, including the Minnehaha Sheriff’s Department, where Amicorp Trustees (South Dakota) is located.
