Careen, a Jamaican national, is an attorney-at-law called to the bar in Barbados. She attended the University of the West Indies where she first obtained a bachelor’s degree in history and subsequently a Bachelor of Law degree. She then attended the Norman Manley Law School where she obtained her Legal Education Certificate.

Prior to joining Amicorp, Careen was part of a corporate and commercial law practice involved in taxation, trust, anti-trust law, civil litigation and family law. She also has expertise in real estate law.

Careen’s area of specialization include:

• Corporate structuring and restructuring
• Tax Planning
• Wealth management
• Establishment of Private equity Funds and Mutual Funds
• Insurance Law
• Corporate Governance and compliance
• Establishment of banking/financial institutions

Along with her position as a managing director of the Barbados office, she currently sits on the board of directors for Amicorp Bank and Trust Limited, Amicorp (Barbados) Ltd., and Amicorp Corporate Services (Barbados) Ltd., and Amicorp Insurance Company.
