Gloria Bacalao del Castillo
Gloria Bacalao del Castillo is a Colombian national. A lawyer with more than 30 years’ experience working in commercial, corporate business and financial sectors, Gloria received her law degree in 1983 from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (Venezuela). Following her studies, she continued to Georgetown University (Washington, D.C.), were she studied the American legal system as well as took several other courses on business, investment banking and capital markets.
In her professional career, she held the position as Chief Legal Counsel and Compliance Officer for Citibank, N.A., Corp Banca, C.A., and Banco Nacional de Crédito Banco Universal. She has been on the board of directors of several companies; Consorcio Credicard, C.A. (a major credit cards processor) in Venezuela, Banco del Orinoco N.V. in Curaçao, Panacorp Fideicomisos S.A., Panacorp Mercado de Capitales S.A. in Panama and Sumarse the institutional chapter in Panama of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and of the Global Pact.
She is fluent in English and Spanish.
