Gerard is a Spanish national. He holds a Law Degree from the Barcelona University, a Masters in Business Law from the Abad Oliva University and a Degree in Taxation from the ESADE Business School.
Gerard has worked in taxation since 1992. His has been employed with companies such as Jausas & Terricabres (the current tax department of Roca Junyent) and Deloitte & Touche, where over a period of 11 years he developed and honed his professional skills. The last 4 years with Deloitte & Touche he was employed as senior manager. Both firms are located in Barcelona.
Gerard is knowledgeable and experienced in Spanish tax planning particularly with regard to acquisition and mergers of companies and restructuring of investment for private clients. He has advised both multinational corporate groups and individuals with various international tax issues such as tax credits for activities such as R&D, exportation, capital gains, commissionaire agreements, permanent establishments, source and characterization of income, withholding taxation, double income tax treaties, foreign tax credits, acquisitions and reorganizations, long term lease agreements and thin capitalization rules.
Gerard joined Amicorp de España S.L., Amicorp Group's Barcelona office in November 2005 as Managing Director.
Gerard has been a teacher for 7 years in tax issues at EADA Business School. He is a member of the Barcelona Bar Association.
Gerard speaks Catalan and Spanish as well as English and French fluently.
