Carlos J. Gamus was born in Caracas, Venezuela. He completed his studies in Caracas where he obtained a law degree from Universidad Catolica Andres Bello in 1999. Carlos subsequently obtained his Master's degree (LLM) in International Banking and Financial Law from Boston University in 2001.
Carlos started his professional career with the law firm Alvarez, Gamus & Padron in Caracas where he worked as an intern from 1996 until 1999. After he obtained his LLM degree, Carlos worked for a year as a foreign associate at Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler LLP in New York City. There he focussed on representing institutional banking clients in a wide variety of transactions related to cross-border financing and reorganizations, acquiring valuable experience in the field of American depository receipts. In 2002, Carlos returned to Caracas and joined the law firm Ruden McClosky, SC prior to joining Amicorp Group's Curacao office in 2006 as a Senior Account Manager. In 2007, Carlos was transferred to Barcelona, Spain, to join the team of Amicorp de Espana, SL. He was promoted to Director of Operations in August 2009 and currently heads up the Latin American division of Amicorp de España SL.
