Andrea is a Mexican national born in Boston, Massachusetts. She holds a law degree (JD equivalent) from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, an LLM in international business law from Georgetown University in Washington, DC and an MA in international affairs and law from the Vienna Diplomatic Academy in Vienna, Austria.

She has broad international experience in both the private and public sectors. Her professional background includes working in corporate law and international tax planning in the offices of Von Wobeser y Sierra, Arthur Andersen and PricewaterhouseCoopers in Mexico City. At the World Bank in Washington, DC she worked in financial and anti-money laundering regulatory and policy issues and in international tax planning at Ernst & Young, LLP in New York. Andrea has also served as advisor on economic, commercial and competitiveness affairs to the Undersecretary of Economic Relations and International Cooperation.

Andrea is fluent in Spanish and English and has intermediate knowledge of German and basic knowledge of Italian and Portuguese
